The next significant addition to my humanitarian portfolio will be INDIA.

I booked my reward flights today with Aeroplan (ie. free flights!) and will be shooting there from the 6th to the 21st (plus travel days, the 5th to the 22nd) of January 2007. I have 239 days to go – so I should get packing. Would welcome any connections or contacts you might have in India – especially Jodhpur or Varanasi. If you’ve been, I’d welcome your thoughts, tips, suggestions…normal travellor’s stuff.

  1. Dear David,

I lived in India for seven years (94-2002) and have traveled extensively in every part of the country. Are your hotels/cars prebooked or do you welcome suggestions? I know Varanasi well but not Jodhpur. Having just written a memoir about my experiences, its still fresh. My focus was spiritual, but i have suggestions for health, comfort, food, and possible contacts- mostly in Delhi.

Drop me a line if interested.

    Steve Briggs

  2. David,

I didn’t know you had dates set. Cool! As it stands now, I will be here in Indian on those dates. Let’s get together and shoot.

  3. Matt – Just got the tickets. Looks like – at this point – I will do Delhi from the 6th to the 8th, then Jodhpur to the 12th, then to Agra briefly to shoot the Taj and catch an overnight train to Varanasi until the 20 or 21st then to Delhi and home again.

I would love to see you while I am there – let’s talk about how that might happen. Ideas?

  4. Wow! Sounds like it will be an amazing trip with some great opportunities for some fabulous photos. I’m jealous.
