ITALY WITHIN THE FRAME 2013

Join Jeffrey Chapman and me for our favourite Within The Frame Photographic Adventures. From April 20-27 we’ll be in Liguria, starting in Genoa, to spend time in Cinque Terre and Camogli – coastal northern Italy at it’s best. Small fishing villages, beautiful twilight and morning hours, late dinners with brilliant food and wine. Teaching happens organically, through discussions as a group and together over meals, as well as one-on-one when you want it.

Then from April 27 to May 04, 2013, we’ll be in Venice, spending the whole week wandering the back streets and canals, chasing the light and soaking up the magic of one of the most romantic cities in the world. We won’t be rushing, instead, we’ll take our time, lingering where we choose, and when the light fails to inspire or the feet get sore, there will be astonishing food, wine, and coffee to fuel the discussions about our craft and art.

For more information, check it all out on Jeffrey’s site or head straight to the information about the 2013 Liguria Within The Frame trip or the 2013 Venice Within The Frame trip.

Our groups are small, and space goes fast, so if you’re interested, follow the appropriate link and get in touch with Jeffrey. Happy to answer questions here, too. See you in Italy!

Gobi Impressions II

Gobi Impressions, Triptych II. Mongolia, 2012. Yesterday I posted the first of these, all taken with my big-boy camera, the Nikon D3s. These three I shot with my iPhone while driving, using an app called Slow Shutter, which for I think $0.99 has given me more fun and creative pleasure than all my other apps, [...]

Gobi Impressions

Gobi Impressions, Triptych. Mongolia, 2012. A triptych made of images shot during my recent time in the Gobi desert. Handheld at low shutter speeds, I moved the camera back and forth to create a series of impressions. My friend Wendy does a lot of work like this and the art she creates continually blows me [...]

Mongolia Snapshots

The ubiquitous UAZ, the Russian 4×4 vans you see everywhere in Mongolia. I want one of these so bad I can almost taste it. A few more snapshots from the Hasselblad in Mongolia: Self portrait. Mongolia, 2012. I walked past this thing (below) several times before I really saw it, stopped dead in my tracks [...]
