Last moments in Hokkaido before flying back to Tokyo. I’ve got a longer post in the works about this trip, and have a small collection of photographs to post as well – I’ll get that up in the next 24 hours, along with your desktop wallpaper for March. In the meantime, a couple last hours behind big lenses, spending time with these big, beautiful birds.

This image is so moving. You can almost hear the stillness and feel the cold wind. It leaves you with such a sense of inner peace.

Magnificent, I especially love the top image.
You truly understand “simple elegance“ and are getting better and better at it right in front of our eyes. Inspirational!
I’m no “birder” but would be overjoyed if these were in my portfolio.

Dude! That first one is freakin amazing! Not bad for someone who doesn’t shoot wildlife hey!
Lovely details and framing.
The legs! Seriously made me go, “Yummmmm.” Beautifully done.
Love the white space. Adds a different dimension and frame to the subject 🙂
The second took me a while to see the image as it appeared like an abstract… I had to turn my head a few times!
Stunning! Thank you! Poignant reminder of the glorious beauty of Hokkaido.
There is nothing like wetting the appetite 😉
