1. David, your pictures are incredible. One of my dreams is to do what you are doing now and it will happen one day soon. Have a great time.

  2. Great photographs. The second from top of the sail boat invokes a dreamy feel. As if I’m looking at a scene from a dream.

  3. Hi David,

These photos are absolutely breath taking for me.
The color are stunning and I’ve got the impression to be in the grass just near your.
How close were you from the grizzly bear?
I made some photo of black bears and grizzlies at Yellowstone last summer, I was happy of the result and though they were good but nothing close to yours.
I can’t wait to read more of your story from this location and see some more picture.

  4. I was raised at the end of the Portland Canal in a little town called Stewart. I can put it into words for you – WET!

Kidding aside, the north coast is special – and you have captured a little bit of it here! Love the bear resting his head on his paws, something strangely human looking.

  5. Hey David,

How close did you get to the bears?? I was wondering if you did the work on your X-E1 ( not that it matters) but then I thought you would have to get pretty close to them in order to use the limited 55mm long range of that camera. Just wondering how brave you are 🙂

  6. So wonderful David. Your images are the next best thing to being there. I totally get why you have been so touched by this place – it shines through.

  7. I especially like the sail boat and the birds. The swimming seal is awesome, and anything with bears in the wild in it is, by definition, cool.

  8. Wonderful images, once again.

I, personally, love the sailing vessel and the birds on the stumps, but the others are winners as well.

    1. Hey David,

I can’t even put into words how this place has gripped my affections and my imagination.

Here is a quote by Dicken’s that may come close…..

“The light, creation’s mind, was everywhere, and all things owned its power.”
