April Desktop Wallpapers

Iceland, 2010. Click either image to enlarge, then right-click to save to your computer.

Two desktop wallpapers this month, due to indecision. I’ve been printing up a storm over here at the loft and in the process I discovered a new series of black and white work from Iceland. These are 2560 x 1600 and will fit anything up to a 27″ iMac or LED cinema display. Enjoy.

  1. Thanks for both wallpapers. Always have one of your pictures on my LG computer screen. Black and white pictures are my favorites.

    Take Care,

    Omar.-

  2. Definitely hard to choose. But I think my eyes landed on the image of the shacks against the sloping peak. Beautiful contrast and a beautifully grand image. Thanks for your generosity.

  3. Author

Craig – We can make that happen. It would be super helpful if you came with a list of some of the things you’d like to learn. That way we can be more specific and less accidental 🙂

  4. Great images David. Hope to glean some Lightroom knowledge on the Liguria trip!!

  5. Man did you ever hit the nail on the head. I always find that when I make a print the image finally is real and comes to life. Technology is amazing and the onset of digital has created an environment in which we have unlimited control over the image. I can’t imagine how I survived prior to Lightroom. Talk about control. But, still it all seems to come together when the print is made. The bigger the better. Just think of Avedon’s, “The American West” exhibition with his 6′ prints. WOW!

  6. Hi David, Edie Howe sent me your direction and alerted me of the desktop picture you are offering. I have a feature on my blog called Tiny House in a Landscape and I would enjoy using your photograph on it if I could get your permission. If it is ok I would also enjoy more information on where it was taken. Thank you! Kent Griswold – Tiny House Blog

  7. Hi,David

As you are not reply via email or tweets I had to choose this place.

At the moment I just want to say you that…
    Please don’t choose “San Serif”
typefaces in your next book. Serif fonts makes it easier to grasp hard-subject books.

As a photographer and a human being I like you so much after Jay Maisel.

    Love & Awakening,
    Vaibhav.

  8. Hi, David! I’ve just grabbed the cottages shot for my own desktop. Thank you!

BTW, I think there’s a blog that would enjoy the first image; they often feature “tiny house in landscape” shots. I’ll send the blogger over to take a look!

    Hope you’re on the mend!
    Edie Howe

  9. Thanks, David.

I just ordered a 3880 last week, also. I’m interested in hearing about your challenges and successes re printing. I think a lot of those involved at discussions at your blog would also like to share your printing experiences. There seem to be a lot of common frustrations in obtaining faithful prints of the photos that we work so hard to perfect.

  10. They look awesome on my new monitor. Thanks, David. Top quality as usual.

  11. Hi David,
Thank you so much for these b/w beauties! I just purchased your book, Visionmongers. I’m in the process of defining my vision for my photography and fine art seems to be where I’m headed. Look forward to reading your book!

  12. I appreciate the little things you do David. Thanks for the wallpaper.

  13. Beautiful, both of them! Thank you! Hope your feet are holding you up OK these days.
