Postcard From New Zealand – Glenorchy

The Legendary H on the wharf at Glenorchy.

A quick hello on the way out of Queenstown. Spent last night at Glenorchy at the end of what the Lonely Planet calls an “achingly beautiful” road and what Trey Ratcliff calls “the most beautiful road in the world.”  Now on to Milford Sound and Fjordland. Yesterday was Bungy jumping – way more fun than should be legal.

See you soon!

  1. Hi David,

I stayed at Glenorchy a couple of years ago. It is fantastic, should try it in Autumn.

    Cheers
    Ken

  2. That’s three posts in a row that say “way too much fun”. Is there really such a thing? How come we’re all not allowed to have “way too much fun!”? I think you should just congratulate yourself on a fabulous journey…

  3. Hi David,
Glad you’re enjoying the “your time trip”
Gladto see you’re visitning Glenorchy. Although i can guarantee the original here in Scotland is much better looking. 🙂

  4. Hope the sandflies are not too bad this time of year..The little devils can be quite ferocious in summer. Have a wonderful time David in one of the beautiful places on the planet. cheers!

  5. Great place NZ. Just got back from a 3 week stay two weeks ago. If you can, do an overnight on Doubtful Sound. Highlight of our entire trip!
